I’m not going to leave you hanging: the answer is a resounding no.

However, you might need to level up your game a little bit, and I’ll explain why, starting with the doom and gloom you probably don’t want to hear.

AI has taken a lot of low-skill, low-paying jobs away. Many companies, especially those with lower budgets to begin with have started using AI to create generalist content that they might have otherwise paid a writer a few dollars to create. That being said, AI certainly hasn’t taken over your job if you have specialized skills, stories to tell, or even an honest voice. AI is a smart tool, but it isn’t a replacement for human touch and connection.

AI is simply an aggregate of all of the content it has been force-fed. It doesn’t have real-life thoughts and experiences. It doesn’t know of its own accord if the content it has been given is any good, nor does it of its own accord know when revisions should be made, and it won’t decide to use a different choice of words to make its point stronger.

AI may be able to replicate a writer’s voice, but it will never be able to grow like a writer.

The first wave of the AI fad is over.

Now there are thousands of recruiters trying to hire freelancers who aren’t using AI, and there are some that are hiring freelancers to help tailor AI generated articles into something better. This means that there is a lot of content out there just waiting for you to write it. Maybe even more than we know, since there are websites and blogs out there struggling to stay afloat using AI content — and they might not even know there is a solution. You have to go out there and offer it to them.

We aren’t competing with AI. We are offering a different service entirely.
